666 - Part 2

Bible Study

One major reason many preachers believe some 666 code will send saints to hell is because they don’t even believe that we are eternally saved in Christ, preachers who are unsure of our security in Christ always promote doubts and fear about our eternity.

Most of the time in the Body of Christ, you will find that believers don’t even agree on the premise or content of our salvation in Christ thus there are always uncertainties about our eschatology. For instance, there are many pastors who don’t agree on John 3:16 (which is the simplest beginners’ text for salvation) and If we don’t agree on the beginning, how can we agree on the end? Many believers don’t even agree with John 3:16 or understand it, Yes, I mean “For God so loved the world…’’ Many believers don’t believe that God loves unbelievers and He actually sent His Son to die for them. They don’t agree with it. They don’t agree that whosoever believes will not perish but have eternal life. Many believers today will tell you that a believer does not have eternal life and that a believer can go to hell. That explains why they are scared of 666. I can’t imagine somebody putting a vaccine into my hand and on my head, and all of a sudden I lose the Holy Ghost in my spirit (my salvation). How does that even make sense? Don’t you understand that I am born of the Spirit (John 3:6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.) and sealed with the Spirit? (Ephesians 1:13 In whom ye also [trusted], after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,). My salvation is eternal! I have eternal life! How can a microchip affect eternal life in my born again spirit? Totally impossible! Nothing physical can undo that which has been done for us eternally in Christ! These are just simple facts that should make a believer to be at peace. Therefore, no matter what this 666 has to represent, it has to be something that has to do with unbelief against the Gospel of Jesus, because only unbelief takes anyone to hell. Some will opine that if you probably find 666 on your cloth that means you are an antichrist or if you find 666 prominent in your account number, you could be hell-bound etc, all those kind of fictitious impractical theology that people just put about only lead to more fear and condemnation, they never minister life to anyone. (John 3:16, Ephesians 2:4-9, Romans 10:9-11).

According to the visions of John in the book of revelation, he said that this mark is going to be on the forehead and on the hand (Revelation 14:9 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive [his] mark in his forehead, or in his hand), if we take this literally, it means the mark will be visible; it is not a mark in our spirits or soul. If you think that there is going to be a mark that a believer can receive unknowingly and all of a sudden he loses his salvation (God’s Spirit within him or her), then you don’t understand that Jesus is the author and finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of [our] faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God). You don’t understand that He is able to save us to the uttermost (Hebrews 7:25 Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.). You don’t understand that He has given us eternal life and we shall never perish! (John 10:28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any [man] pluck them out of my hand.). And that is the issue with all these eschatological facts! Let me tell you something vital. Personally, I think that believers are not even supposed to be discussing about eschatology at all, because most pastors don’t understand Salvation 101. They do not even understand the eternal life given us in Christ. I am not trying to make anyone feel like I’m being superior, but that is the truth. Many believers; including pastors, don’t know that a believer is eternally saved. Why then will they not talk mysteriously about the rapture or about the end of the age? If both of us cannot agree on the beginning of salvation and the middle of it, how can we agree on the end?

A very simple fact like you saw in the vision is, there are those that will not receive the 666 and they will be killed. Now, that could be persecution or outright killing; whichever way you put it, but the fact remains that not everybody will receive this mark. Whatever this mark represents and whatever demonic agenda it is, not everybody will receive it; just the way in that city of Babylon, the three Hebrew children did not bow down to that idol.

This is not the first time a global world power will be against the will of God (assuming that is what John’s revelation is really about). It happened in the day of Nebuchadnezzar, Darius, Belshazzar, Ahazerus and several other times. The systems of this world or the government can come up with laws that are against the will of God and we can be persecuted for going against or being in defiance to those laws.

Revelation 14:9 -10 –“9 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand. 10The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:

Once again, the phrase “if any man” used in this scripture, means that the mark will be optional and not automatic on everybody, (assuming that it could be taken literally). In the scripture above, we see that there is going to be indignation, and those who receive this mark will be tormented with fire and brimstone from the presence of the holy angels and the presence of the lamb forever. All through the epistles, the Bible says the wrath of God is upon the children of disobedience; the wrath of God is upon the unbeliever. The Bible says God sent His Son to save the world and not to condemn the world, but for everyone that rejects salvation the wrath of God abides on them. The wrath of God is not something I can expatiate on right now, but I will tell you one thing: the bible is clear about the fact that the believer in Christ is not a partaker of the wrath of God at all. The Bible says we have not been ordained to wrath but to life in Christ Jesus (1Thessalonians 5:9).

As such, the believer has no business with this 666 paranoia and dread that comes over people. If at all anybody will receive the 666 (assuming it is a literal figure), it has to represent something everybody knows and those who receive it will be fully aware that they are in rebellion against God and against salvation in the Lord Jesus Christ. They will know this because it is a decision from their heart; just the same way unbelievers all over the world are fully aware that they are unbelievers in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. You don’t need any 666 code (either literal or figurative) for people to be unbelievers. There are too many unbelievers already in the world without any enforced vaccine or chip!

There are people that will literally stone you if you tell them Jesus died for their sins and has come to save them. They will spit on you and be angry with you. Why is this? The 666 has not come and we have already experienced so much hate against the Gospel. What then is the big deal about the 666 that is to come? And if the 666 does come, it is not the business of the believer. I make bold to tell you that because this is a revelation (a vision), 666 can never be literal. The same way the beasts, horses, Babylon and the queen of Babylon in revelation cannot be literal. It is a vision for God’s sake! For example, the candles that Jesus walked within in Revelation chapters 1 and 2; He called them pastors. Surely no pastor is a literal candle. It is all symbolism and these things are not literal! You cannot assume that because Jesus walked around candles, therefore anytime we come to church we must have candles around.

One of the major pitfalls in the interpretation of the book of Revelation is that people take it literally and it is not. However, for the sake of the very many people who already believe it to be literal, in this book I have made effort to let you know within the contexts of the visions that there is nothing to be scared of regarding this issue, if you are a believer in Christ.

I want to show you texts in the epistles that clarify that the believer in Christ has no part in the plot of the man of sin and nothing that represents condemnation is ever our lot. Many people call this man of sin the antichrist (I will not argue for or against that doctrine in this article) that will come before the Lord Jesus comes for His church, even though there are other expanded teachings that affirm the antichrist as both a doctrine and a spirit.

2 Thessalonians 2:7-10 - 7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. 8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: 9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 10And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

The people that received the lying wonders of this man of sin, are people who did not receive the truth that they might be saved. They are unbelievers. If there is going to be anything from the antichrist (maybe a mark or anything else) on the earth realm, that people are going receive in their spirit or bodies, it is going to be for unbelievers. It can never be for believers in Christ. You can underline that and take note of it forever.

2Thessalonians 2:11-12 - 11And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: 12That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. If you have not gotten anything from this book, at least you should get this; that the subject of the 666 or some sort of supernatural figure that is going to come upon the earth, is for unbelievers and not for believers in Christ Jesus.

2 Thessalonians 2:1-5 –“ 1Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, 2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. 3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 4Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. 5 Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? 6 And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time.” Apostle Paul spoke about a man of sin that will be revealed before we are joined to the Lord in the resurrection. Therefore, I do believe that there is going to be some sort of demonic influence over the earth before the rapture. It is possible that there might be somebody who is going to authorise unbelief, and publicly unleash it upon the world. I do believe it can happen. The Bible says there is going to be a man of sin that will be revealed. However, the Bible does not tell us that the man of sin is Hitler, Donald Trump, Joe Biden or Michelle Obama. It doesn’t give us any of those conspiracy theories; rather, it only says that a man of sin will be revealed. But one thing is sure; no matter what is being revealed, the believer in Christ is never a part of any condemnation and eternal torment.

Revelation 15:2-3- 2 And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God. There are people who got victory over the beast!3 And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvellous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints.

There is never going to be a time where the devil will just control everybody’s life without their will. He is not that powerful. From the beginning of the world, the devil has always come as a tempter; for example, speaking to Eve, giving her suggestions and tempting her. The devil does not have a sophisticated technology where he will suddenly just decide to make people unbelievers by giving them a number. Are you even aware that all we have been discussing in terms of salvation are spiritual realities? Are you aware that if you put a code in my hand and my head it does not affect my spirit? Why are people then so paranoid about this stuff? Many believers keep reading about being sealed with the 666 on their heads and hands, yet they are oblivious of the fact that they are sealed with the Holy Ghost of promise and can never be corrupted until the day of redemption! (Ephesians 1:13 In whom ye also [trusted], after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,). Praise be unto God! This is something we all need to know. There are those who have victory over that mark of the beast.

Here are some key points you must note again as I conclude this book.

  1. The mark is not for everybody on earth.
  2. It is not for believers in Christ.
  3. There are people who will be victorious over it. People who will not receive it (just like Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego refused to bow to Nebuchadnezzar’s idol), no matter what this mark will represent.

If it is from the pit of hell, whatever unbelief it will represent is not going to be elusive. It is going to be clear to everybody that it is an act of unbelief; just the same way the antichrist is already in the world. Whenever you hear ‘the antichrist’, know it is a spirit that is anti-salvation in Christ Jesus. If you read scriptures like Revelation 16:2 Revelation 16:2 (And the first went, and poured out his vial upon the earth; and there fell a noisome and grievous sore upon the men which had the mark of the beast, and [upon] them which worshipped his image.), Revelation 19:20 (And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.) And Revelation 20:4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and [I saw] the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received [his] mark upon their foreheads or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.), you will discover that every one that took this mark of the beast found their part in the lake of fire and brimstone with Satan and his messengers.

2Thessalonians 2:13-17 –“ 13But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth: 14Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. 15Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle. 16Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace, 17Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work.” This scripture says we have been called to glory by Christ Jesus. It says there is thanksgiving always for us because we have been chosen unto sanctification of the Spirit. That is, we have been chosen to a life in Christ which we have already received. Therefore, if there is any news about 666 or the antichrist being in a human form, it is not going to be received by believers in Christ. It is only for unbelievers. Believers in Christ have no part in those antichrist gimmicks and its demonic work and onslaught. We have been ordained unto glory in Christ Jesus. Beloved, be of good cheer, Christ has overcome the world! Never be swindled and dribbled by all manner of doctrines in the world that causes instability in your heart towards the work of the Lord and your salvation in Christ Jesus.

God bless you!
